One of Canada’s best-selling rock bands, multi-Platinum Finger Eleven (@finger_eleven), are back with new music for their devoted fanbase. Today (September 19), the band released “Last Night On Earth,” the title track from their first studio album in ten years. The full album, Last Night On Earth, is due November 7 via Better Noise Music, with pre-orders available now.
Originally intended as a string-laden ballad about the fragility of relationships, “Last Night On Earth” evolved into a heartfelt acoustic jam during the final hours of studio tracking. Drummer Steve Molella recalls:
“Scott wrote some of my favorite lyrics. It was the most natural the song has ever sounded.”
Vocalist Scott Anderson adds:
“It could be placed squarely in a traditional relationship frame, where you forget what you’re even fighting about. But you hate that feeling in the pit of your stomach when something’s not resolved and you don’t know what tomorrow’s gonna look like.”
The track follows the August 1 release of “Blue Sky Mystery” featuring Richard Patrick from Filter, which became the band’s third consecutive Billboard Top 10 hit in Canada. Earlier singles like 2024’s “Adrenaline” reached the Top 20 on Mediabase’s Active Rock chart and garnered over 176k YouTube views, establishing a fresh wave of excitement for the band ahead of the new album.
*“As we were making *Last Night On Earth, there was a feeling we were creating a big rock record,” says guitarist Rick Jackett. “We’d done that early in our career, then veered away from it. But it was time to embrace that bigness again. Even the soft songs sound big.”
Originating from Burlington, Ontario, Finger Eleven have built a remarkable career. Their self-titled debut went Gold in the U.S. and Platinum in Canada, while hits like “One Thing” and “Paralyzer” propelled them onto international charts. Their 2007 album Them vs. You vs. Me delivered a #1 single in the U.S. and went 5× Platinum, and 2015’s Five Crooked Lines continued to solidify their status as one of Canada’s greatest live rock acts.
After a busy festival season, Finger Eleven will hit the U.S. with Alien Ant Farm and Brkn Love ahead of the album release, followed by a national Canadian tour with Headstones and Tea Party.
Tickets are available now on the band’s official website.
