Guadalajara-born, Mexico City-based artist Blnko has been quietly reshaping what Latin punk can sound like. Signed to Hopeless Records, he brings a sharp mix of emotional storytelling and restless experimentation on Extraño Extrañarte (released Nov. 21, 2025), a record that captures the tension between growing up and holding onto the ghosts of youth. The album’s singles were released progressively throughout 2025 before being compiled into this full release, creating a cohesive narrative of reflection and growth.
From the opening track “Donde Vivimos Juntos”, co-written with Chris Freeman (Hot Mulligan) and Jayden Seeley (With Confidence), Blnko hits the ground running with melodic punch — equal parts heartbreak and late-night energy. The line “I miss the house where we lived together” lands with a sense of lived experience, capturing the weight of shared memories without over-explaining. The bilingual delivery keeps the emotion immediate and relatable.
“Lo Rompimos Otra Vez,” produced in Los Angeles by Mike Green (Paramore, All Time Low, 5SOS), marks a turning point. Blnko himself calls it “the end of my punk phase,” and the track’s pop-driven sound that keeps the rock grit intact proves it — cleaner, more deliberate, yet still carrying the tension of its themes.
Deeper into the album, “En Fotos” and “Háblame Bonito” highlight Blnko’s gift for melody, pulling back distortion to let emotional moments breathe. “Mucho Gusto” offers a spark of levity before “Te Necesito Más” dives back into yearning with slow-burn intensity. The closer, “Mañana Hablamos (1154)”, lands like the final text you’ll never send — stripped-down, intimate, and quietly affecting.
By the end of the album, it’s clear that Blnko isn’t holding anything back. Extraño Extrañarte lays out heartbreak, longing, and the push to move forward in ways that feel lived-in and personal, making it an engaging listen for fans of both punk and pop-punk.
