MOTHICA Joins SharpTone Records and Shares Video for “Evergreen Misery”

SharpTone Records is thrilled to welcome MOTHICA to its global roster.

To mark the signing, MOTHICA has released the video for her latest single, “Evergreen Misery.”

“Writing ‘Evergreen Misery’ was a journey full of every twist and turn you could imagine,” MOTHICA shares. “I was a few months out of rehab and needed to release this simmering anger and deep melancholy I had been numbing for so long. The behind-the-scenes of the music industry took a huge toll on my mental health. After a 30-day treatment program, I was ready to reconnect with the pure feeling of writing music again.”

She continues: “The lyrics reflect some ‘energy vampires’ in my life—people who tried to borrow elements of my story as their own, without experiencing the pain my art stems from. There’s a dark humor in that for me—this idea of ‘take what you want from me, my misery is bottomless.'”

MOTHICA adds that this single marks a shift toward a heavier, more rock-driven sound. “My fans have dubbed it ‘Rockica,’ following releases like ‘Nocturnal,’ my Polyphia collaboration, and my Bring Me The Horizon remix. Growing up attending metalcore shows, I felt it was the right time to explore that side of myself. Working with producer Elliot Polokoff helped shape the sound of this era, blending cinematic synths, gritty guitars, and emotional hooks.”

A New Era with SharpTone Records

“I knew I was taking a step in a different sonic direction,” MOTHICA says. “The team at SharpTone Records truly understood my vision for both the music and visuals. I’m thrilled to announce this partnership to elevate the next evolution of MOTHICA.”

About MOTHICA

Rather than immolating in the light of a flame, MOTHICA absorbs the heat and transforms it into anthems rooted in dark alternative soundscapes and metal-infused catharsis. Overcoming addiction, mental health struggles, and personal challenges, she has spent the past decade building a devoted audience with albums including Blue Hour (2020), NOCTURNAL (2022), and Kissing Death (2024).

Critical acclaim has followed her work: Wonderland praised Kissing Death as “raw, vulnerable, and deeply cathartic,” LADYGUNN called it “an innovative audio/visual journey,” EARMILK described it as “bold, important, and transformative,” and KERRANG! declared it “brilliant.”

With roots in art and design, MOTHICA crafts a fully immersive creative world, from merchandise to video direction. She has collaborated with Polyphia, Scene Queen, and Papa Roach, and toured with Coheed & Cambria and Halestorm, amassing hundreds of millions of streams along the way. Her SharpTone debut signals a rebirth, showcasing a powerful new era for the artist.
