Canadian Rock Titans Return with Thunderous New Anthem and Summer Tour
Canadian rock powerhouse Big Wreck is back and louder than ever with the release of their explosive new single “Believer”, out today along with an official music video.
Fresh off a successful run of U.S. dates and a high-voltage appearance on the Creed Cruise, Big Wreck returns to home soil energized and ready to dominate Canadian stages this summer. The release of “Believer” follows a banner year that saw the band named official ambassadors for Record Store Day Canada, a JUNO nomination for Rock Album of the Year, and continued critical acclaim for their genre-defying sound.
“Believer” delivers everything fans love about Big Wreck — searing guitar work, heavy grooves, and emotionally charged lyricism. “The groove always felt right in this one,” says frontman Ian Thornley. “It was written fast — it started with the riff and just kept going. It was important to me that the guitar part had its own narrative — I wanted it to tell its own story.”
From start to finish, the track is pure Big Wreck: technically masterful, emotionally resonant, and unmistakably powerful. Thornley’s voice and guitar work continue to anchor the band’s sound, described by Ultimate Guitar as “one of the best guitar players alive today.”

Formed in 1997, Big Wreck made an immediate impact with their platinum-certified debut In Loving Memory Of…, which spawned rock radio staples like “The Oaf,” “That Song,” and “Blown Wide Open.” Albums like Albatross and Ghosts reinforced their status as rock innovators, with Thornley’s guitar playing, songwriting, and powerful vocals earning admiration across generations of fans.
Fan reactions to “Believer” have been overwhelmingly positive, with comments praising the band’s continuing evolution and Thornley’s unmatched musicianship. As one fan puts it, “Ian simply doesn’t miss — the whole band is sounding amazing. Can’t wait for the next album!”
With “Believer,” Big Wreck continues to redefine what it means to be a rock band in 2025 — and they’re far from done.
