Creed’s highly anticipated return to the stage after a 12-year hiatus proved to be a triumphant celebration for fans at the Budweiser Stage on July 30, 2024. The concert was a resounding success, with a sold-out crowd enjoying a night of powerful performances and impressive pyrotechnics.
The evening kicked off with Finger Eleven, who set a high energy tone with their opening set. Their performance featured a mix of their greatest hits, including “Above,” “One Thing,” and “Paralyzer,” along with a creative intro featuring Genesis’ “That’s All” and a snippet of AC/DC’s “Back in Black.”
Following them, Big Wreck took the stage, delivering a robust set that resonated deeply with the audience. Ian Thornley, the frontman, made a personal connection with the audience by sharing that Creed is one of his favorite bands, reminiscing about their past tours together. Their set included powerful renditions of “Bombs Away,” “Locomotive,” and the Thornley cover “Come Again,” among others.
As the main event, Creed brought a spectacular show that perfectly balanced their classic hits with their signature rock swagger. The sold-out crowd was treated to a setlist that featured fan favorites and deep cuts alike. Opening with “Bullets” and moving through a series of anthems like “Torn” and “Are You Ready?”, the band kept the energy high throughout. Highlights included the stirring renditions of “With Arms Wide Open” and “Higher,” which had the entire audience singing along.
The band’s performance was enhanced by a dazzling array of pyrotechnics, including sparklers, stage flames, and a generous use of smoke and fog, which created a visually engaging experience that matched the intensity of their music.
Special mention goes to Eric Friedman, who, though not a permanent member of Creed, was a notable addition to the tour.
