Eyes of Alice @ The Rockpile Bar and Nightclub, Toronto

Last night I got to witness for the first time the awesome Alice Cooper tribute band Eyes of Alice. They delivered an incredible live performance at one of my favorite clubs, The Rockpile Bar and Nightclub. Described as The Ultimate Alice Cooper Experience, they delivered just that! From the set list of hard-rock anthems from the master’s impressive catalogue to the elaborate stage show with actors and heaps of props on stage—an electric chair, a guillotine, a straight jacket, fake blood, nurses, monsters, teachers, clones, and a executioner—they expertly replicated a classic Alice Cooper show. What’s great is that they even had an amazing doll of ethyl that frontman Robby Cooper brought out for him to dance with and occasionally kick around.

Robby deserves special recognition as a vocalist for looking and sounding just like Alice, while Chris Hume is a monster on bass and Niall Mellors on drums is regarded as a musician’s musician. Jay and Lou on guitars form the perfect chemistry of instruments in the band with their slick and talented shredding.

It was a great night of classic rock music and an awesome show that I’d definitely recommend catching at any opportunity. If you can’t get to a real Alice Cooper show, then Eyes of Alice is the next best thing!
