Kamelot have released “Sanctuary,” the final single from their highly anticipated new album Dark Asylum, arriving Friday, August 28 via Napalm Records.
Kamelot are closing the door on one chapter and opening another with “Sanctuary,” the latest and final preview of Dark Asylum. The new track finds the symphonic metal veterans leaning heavily into the cinematic side of their sound, combining driving riffs, sweeping orchestration and a strong melodic pull.
Frontman Tommy Karevik is joined by Visions of Atlantis vocalist Clémentine Delauney and Decessus frontwoman Ignacia Fernández, creating a three-vocalist lineup that gives the song considerably more depth. Rather than simply piling on guest appearances, the three voices work together to reinforce the song’s sense of movement from darkness toward something brighter.
The song also serves as an important conclusion to the world Kamelot have created around RavenHill Asylum throughout the album campaign.
Founding guitarist Thomas Youngblood explains that “Sanctuary” represents the point where the darkness of RavenHill is finally left behind. The song deals with hope, freedom and finding your way back to yourself after difficult experiences, while the accompanying video continues the RavenHill storyline beyond the asylum itself.
That theatrical storytelling has become a major part of Kamelot’s identity, and “Sanctuary” fits naturally into that world. There is plenty of grandeur here, but the track doesn’t lose sight of the melody, giving Karevik, Delauney and Fernández room to carry the emotional weight.

Dark Asylum lands Friday, August 28, the same day Kamelot launch their Dark Asylum World Tour in Orlando, Florida. The extensive tour will take the band across North America and Europe, with dates scheduled in cities including New York, Seattle and Dallas, as well as Tilburg, London, Warsaw and Barcelona.
The album expands Kamelot’s established symphonic metal formula into an even more theatrical setting. Built around the fictional RavenHill Asylum, Dark Asylum explores a shadowy Neo-Victorian world where science, faith and madness collide.
The record also features a collection of notable guest appearances, including Avantasia mastermind Tobias Sammet, Eluveitie’s Lea-Sophie Fischer, Clémentine Delauney, Ignacia Fernández, Rannveig Sif Sigurðardóttir, Sólveig Sara Leupold and Billy King.
From the cinematic scale of “Ashen World” to the darker atmosphere surrounding tracks such as “Ivy, My Dear,” the album promises to be another ambitious entry in Kamelot’s catalogue. “Sanctuary” provides a fitting final glimpse before the full story arrives.
With Dark Asylum arriving tomorrow and the world tour getting underway at the same time, Kamelot are wasting no time taking RavenHill from record stores and streaming services to stages around the world.
