Bambie Thug Unleashes “REDRUM” — A Visceral, Defiant Vision of Power and Pain

Ireland’s own genre-bending powerhouse Bambie Thug (they/them/fae) is back — louder, darker, and more fearless than ever. The Cork-born artist has just dropped the official music video for their explosive new single “REDRUM,” out now via Spinefarm Records.

Already hailed by critics as a force to be reckoned with, Kerrang! calls Bambie a “genre-mashing fiend,” while DORK praises them as “an undeniable star… viciously fearless.” GAY TIMES adds, “Welcome to Bambie Thug’s witchy soundscape — shaking up the alternative scene.” And that’s exactly what “REDRUM” delivers: a collision of chaos, rebellion, and emotion that only Bambie could conjure.

Directed by Jake Ringsell, the video dives headfirst into one of cinema’s most disturbing visual touchstones — A Clockwork Orange’s Ludovico Technique. What follows is a surreal descent into control, indoctrination, and the horror of forced transformation. Ringsell builds a nightmare that mirrors the chaos of the modern world — and Bambie Thug is right at its fiery center.

“As soon as I heard ‘REDRUM,’ I knew we were going to make something special,” Ringsell says. “The song gripped me from the first moment — unapologetic and defiant. The Ludovico reference became the thread we wove everything on: hypnotic, visceral, and unflinching.”

Bambie, ever the provocateur, keeps things simple:

“Interpret it for yourselves.”

📺 Watch “REDRUM” now — and step inside Bambie Thug’s electrified nightmare.

Produced by Shaun Lopez (†††, Deftones), “REDRUM” is a razor-sharp collision of sinister guitars, crashing drums, and Bambie’s blistering vocals — a sonic uprising drenched in rebellion and purpose. It’s political. It’s anti-war. It’s a full-throttle “rebel cry” for the LGBTQIA+ community and for anyone who’s had enough of being told to sit down and shut up.

“Seeing the reaction live just emphasizes how important the song is,” Bambie says. “It’s all I can offer to these turbulent times — my art, and hope it wakes people up.”

Since its release, “REDRUM” has been met with international acclaim. Kerrang! praised it as “raging and incredibly vital,” Wonderland called its lyricism “slick and profound,” and Hot Press declared it “a loud, proud rebel cry.”

“REDRUM” marks Bambie Thug’s first release under a global deal with Spinefarm Records, joining a roster that includes Bullet for My Valentine, Creeper, Dayseeker, and Black Veil Brides. It’s another landmark in what’s already been a wild year: a European arena run with Babymetal and Poppy, a Glastonbury debut that left jaws on the floor, and a presence that’s shaking both the alt scene and the fashion world.

Bambie’s calling card? Pure transformation. From vampire brides to arachnid queens to villainous cartoon icons, fae’s visuals blur fantasy and fury, redefining what pop rebellion looks and sounds like in 2025.
