Big Wreck are celebrating 25 years of The Pleasure and the Greed with a new 25th Anniversary Edition, arriving November 6 on all digital streaming platforms and marking the first time the album will be available on vinyl.
The influential Canadian rock band have completely remixed and remastered the album, with Ian Thornley and Eric Ratz revisiting the original recordings and giving the songs a new presentation more than two decades after the album’s original release.
The 25th Anniversary Edition also includes three bonus tracks, including new versions of “Mistake” featuring Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger and “Breakthrough” featuring Alter Bridge vocalist Myles Kennedy, along with a stripped-down 2026 demo of “Mistake.”

Kroeger’s connection to “Mistake” goes back years, with Nickelback regularly performing the song live and including a version on their Live At Home concert DVD. His new contribution gives the track another dimension while keeping its connection to the Canadian rock scene firmly intact.
Kennedy joins Thornley for a new take on “Breakthrough,” adding his distinctive voice to one of the album’s standout tracks. The third bonus track, “Mistake (2026 Demo),” strips the song back to piano and Thornley’s vocal, offering a much more intimate look at the material.
For Thornley, revisiting The Pleasure And The Greed has meant returning to an album that has carried some complicated memories.
“This album has long been a polarizing subject in and around the Big Wreck camp,” says Thornley.
The frontman recalls the excitement surrounding the band’s second album before recording began, followed by disappointment when the finished record did not sound the way the band had envisioned.
Twenty-five years later, the opportunity to revisit the original recordings gave Thornley and Ratz the chance to approach the material with years of additional experience.
“When the opportunity arose and we found out that the recordings still existed, I couldn’t wait to hear what was actually there,” Thornley explains.
According to Thornley, the original recordings were in better shape than he expected. After discovering that many of the issues he remembered were connected to the original mix, he and Ratz began rebuilding the album from those recordings.
“So, 25 years after the album was released, Eric Ratz and I went about painstakingly putting these recordings back together in a way that makes sense to us now,” says Thornley. “Many years of experience later, it was almost as if we were hearing this album for the first time.”
The result is what the band considers the definitive version of The Pleasure And The Greed, including the original album’s 16 tracks and the three new bonus recordings.
The album includes fan favourites such as “Ladylike,” which has continued to generate millions of streams and remains a staple of Big Wreck’s catalogue.
