It was a hot, sticky night in Toronto when Nickelback took to the stage at Budweiser Stage. The Canadian rockers had the crowd in the palm of their hand from the first note, belting out hit after hit.
The setlist was a greatest hits collection, with the band playing fan favourites like “Photograph”, “How You Remind Me”, and “Far Away”. They also threw in a few new songs from their latest album, “Feed the Machine”, which fit in seamlessly with the older material.
Chad Kroeger and company put on a high-energy show, with plenty of pyrotechnics and a light show that was second to none. The band was tight and sounded great, and Kroeger’s voice was in top form.
The highlight of the night was when Nickelback brought a young fan onstage to sing with them. The lucky girl, who was named Emily, belted out “Rockstar” like a pro, and even got a hug from Kroeger at the end. It was a moment that she’ll surely never forget.
All in all, it was a great show from a band that knows how to put on a good time. If you’re a fan of Nickelback, or just rock music in general, you owe it to yourself to catch them live.
