Last night, I had the honor of attending a legendary Black Flag concert to a sold out crowd at The Rockpile Bar & Nightclub in Toronto, ON, Canada. The concert was held on Monday, April 17, 2023, and the doors opened at 7pm.
Black Flag did two sets. The first set was at 8pm, and they performed their iconic MY WAR album in its entirety. It was a truly incredible experience to witness Black Flag play such an iconic album. I was in awe, as their energy and enthusiasm seemed even greater than when they first released MY WAR years ago. Every song in the set felt alive and vibrant, and the crowd was eating it up.
After their performance of MY WAR, they took a twenty-minute break and then returned with a new set of their greatest hits. This second set was just as electrifying as the first, and the audience was no less captivated. Each song was greeted with roaring approval, and the band seemed to feed off the enthusiasm of the crowd.
Overall, it was an excellent show. Black Flag still have what it takes to put on a great concert, and I left feeling invigorated and inspired. If you ever get the chance to see Black Flag live, don’t hesitate to do so. They really know how to put on an unforgettable performance.
