Ohio metalcore veterans Miss May I are set to return with their eighth studio album, No Place For Me, arriving October 2 via Solid State Records.
The band, featuring Levi Benton (vocals), Jerod Boyd (drums), Ryan Neff (bass), and Elisha Mullins (guitar), have also unveiled the first taste of the new record with the release of the powerful new single “Sanctuary.”
The track dives into the struggle of searching for peace while recognizing the personal battles that can stand in the way.
“‘Sanctuary’ is a song about wanting to feel safe and realizing you’re the one making that impossible,” explains vocalist Levi Benton. “It’s a cycle I’ve struggled with my whole life and I think a lot of people know exactly what that feels like.”
According to Benton, No Place For Me became a deeply personal writing process, capturing years of emotions and experiences that had never fully been expressed.
“No Place For Me is everything I’ve felt for a long time but never had the words for,” says Benton. “Writing it taught me who I actually am even when that hurt to look at.”
The album finds Miss May I continuing to balance crushing metalcore aggression with melodic hooks, technical musicianship, and the emotional honesty that has connected them with fans worldwide since their formation in 2007.
The band broke through with 2012’s At Heart, which debuted at No. 32 on the Billboard 200, followed by acclaimed releases including Deathless (2015), Shadows Inside (2017), and 2022’s Curse Of Existence. Their latest chapter marks their debut full-length release through Solid State Records.
Known for their relentless live performances and extensive touring history alongside acts such as Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive, and Motionless In White, Miss May I will bring their new material to the stage this summer with appearances at INKcarceration and Rock Fest.
