SAVE US Announce New Album Death To Something, Share New Single “Far”

Transcontinental trio SAVE US have announced their new album, Death To Something, arriving October 16 via Solid State Records. The band has also unveiled the video for the album’s gorgeously melancholic and atmospheric new single, “Far.”

Featuring vocalist Miguel Owls, guitarist Chris Biddiscombe and drummer Benji Havercroft, SAVE US recorded the new album with producer Landon Tewers, mastermind of The Plot In You. The band will also hit the road this fall for a tour with Saosin.

“Far” carries a deeply personal weight for Owls, who wrote the song while halfway through the album’s creation and struggling with homesickness.

“Far” captures the tension between chasing a dream and dealing with the personal cost of being away from home. For Owls, that meant being farther from his wife and everything familiar than he had ever been.

SAVE US came together in an unlikely fashion in 2023. Owls, who is based in California’s Central Valley, had been building an online following by posting vocal covers. Biddiscombe, based in Bristol, UK, discovered one of his Architects covers on TikTok and reached out.

Despite being separated by more than 5,000 miles, the musicians immediately began working together. Owls would regularly wake up at 5 a.m. before his factory job so he could write and record with Biddiscombe and Havercroft.

The trio eventually recorded several tracks remotely before Owls travelled overseas to film the video for “Distance,” from the band’s LUCID EP. The song went on to surpass 2.6 million Spotify streams.

SAVE US followed LUCID with the EXIST EP in 2024. A year later, the band signed with Solid State Records and travelled to Michigan to record Death To Something with Tewers.

The band’s name reflects the circumstances that brought its members together.

“Chris and Benji were both ready to stop doing music,” Owls explains. “I was in the same boat. We were all on the edge of letting our dreams go. Out of nowhere, we found each other, went all the way in together, and the band genuinely saved us.”

That shared experience is at the heart of Death To Something, an album built around emotion, distance, perseverance and the human connections that can keep creative dreams alive.

With “Far” offering an early glimpse into that emotional territory, SAVE US are heading into their next chapter with a new album, a new label and a fall tour alongside Saosin.
