The Iron Maidens, an all-female Iron Maiden tribute band, played The Rockpile in Toronto on Saturday night.
The band, which formed in 2001 in Los Angeles, consists of singer Kirsten Rosenberg (a.k.a. Bruce Chickinson), guitarists Courtney Cox (a.k.a. Adrian Smith) and Nikki Stringfield (a.k.a. Dave Murray), bassist Wanda Ortiz (a.k.a. Steve Harris) and drummer Linda McDonald (a.k.a. Nicko McBrain).
The Maidens put on a high-energy show, playing hits from Iron Maiden’s extensive catalogue, including “Aces High,” “2 Minutes to Midnight,” “The Trooper” and “Run to the Hills.”
Rosenberg was a commanding presence on stage, prowling and posing like Maiden front man Bruce Dickinson, while the rest of the band head banged and shredded their way through the set.
The Maidens are tight musicians and put on a great show that any Iron Maiden fan would enjoy. If you get a chance to see them live, don’t miss it.
