About Twisted Sister
Formed in New Jersey in the early 1970s, Twisted Sister became one of heavy metal’s most distinctive and successful bands, combining powerful riffs, anthemic choruses, theatrical imagery and a rebellious spirit.
The band’s best-known lineup featured Jay Jay French on guitar, Eddie “Fingers” Ojeda on guitar, Dee Snider on lead vocals, Mark “The Animal” Mendoza on bass, and A.J. Pero on drums. Following the Come Out and Play tour, Pero left the group and was replaced by former Good Rats drummer Joey “Seven” Franco, who performed on the band’s 1987 album Love Is for Suckers.
Twisted Sister reached international success with the release of Stay Hungry in 1984. The multi-platinum album produced two of the band’s most recognizable songs, “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock,” helping propel Twisted Sister to worldwide prominence.
With their distinctive sound, memorable music videos and larger-than-life visual identity, Twisted Sister became one of the defining bands of 1980s heavy metal.
Totally Twisted – The Studio Albums 1982–1987 will be released November 13, 2026, on 5-color LP and 5CD.
