Dream Theater Goes Back in Time with Distance Over Time Tour
Introduction
Dream Theater is one of the most consistant and progressive bands in music today. Their concerts are always amazing, and they never disappoint their fans. Their latest album, Distance Over Time, has been out for a few years now and it’s still something that all Dream Theater fans should listen to. They played a lot of songs from this album during their concert at Center in the Square in Kitchener, Ontario on March 11th 2019.
Dream Theater opened with Untethered Angel.
The first song of the night, Untethered Angel, was a very appropriate choice to open with. The song deals with a person who is in a coma and how they travel through space and time to find their soul mate. It’s a beautiful song that had everyone captivated from the moment John Petrucci started playing his opening chords.
Petrucci also made use of some pedals during Untethered Angel which added some interesting effects and gave the song more depth than it otherwise would have had without those extra layers.

The show was amazing! They played with passion and energy, even though it was the end of their tour schedule at that point. I’m glad that I took advantage of this opportunity to see them live before they went back on tour again next year (they’re really busy).
