Living Dead Girl’s “Succubus” Gets Seductive and Sinister Ahead of Conspiracy

With Halloween just around the corner, Living Dead Girl have arrived to soundtrack your nightmares — and your fantasies. Their latest single, “Succubus,” brings blood, lust, and myth to life in a darkly cinematic new video that’s as seductive as it is sinister.

Opening on frontwoman Molly Rennick in a blood-filled bathtub, the video blurs the line between horror and desire — a recurring theme in the band’s twisted aesthetic. “It’s written from the perspective of a mythological sex demon that seduces you and kills you in your sleep,” Rennick explains. “It’s sultry, it’s alluring, and it’s sure to be your new go-to song for passionate nights.”

The song’s intoxicating groove and gothic metal edge highlight the band’s evolution ahead of their upcoming sophomore album, Conspiracy, set for release on October 10. Produced by Mitchell Marlow (In This Moment, Papa Roach), the record promises a darker, heavier, and more vulnerable side of Living Dead Girl while keeping their trademark hook-driven sound intact.

Rennick calls Conspiracy “the perfect follow-up” to their debut Exorcism (2021), an album that established Living Dead Girl as one of modern metal’s most compelling new acts. “It stays true to the sound we created but showcases my personal and artistic growth,” she says. “It’s darker, heavier, and more intense — but still has the sing-along choruses you’d expect from Living Dead Girl.”

That balance of beauty and brutality has become Rennick’s trademark. Drawing inspiration from both theatrical metal acts and pop provocateurs, Living Dead Girl blend metalcore’s aggression with goth-pop glamour — a combination that’s earned them a fiercely devoted fanbase.

Since their breakout single “Alive” hit Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Indicator chart in 2021, the band has toured extensively across North America, sharing stages at Rock Fest, Earthday Birthday, and Upheaval Festival 2025, while also earning features in Revolver, Outburn, and Hustler.

Their sound — described by fans as “In This Moment meets Avril Lavigne, but make it horror” — continues to evolve. Tracks like “Ugly” and “Dysfunctional” showcased Rennick’s ability to mix raw vulnerability with infectious hooks, while their 2023 covers EP Not That Innocent reimagined early 2000s pop hits with a heavy, tongue-in-cheek twist.

Conspiracy, however, looks to push even further. From the venomous title track to the dark anthems “We’ll All Be Dead” and “Brainwashed,” the record promises a deeper dive into both sonic and emotional territory. Rennick’s lyrical approach — equal parts empowerment and exorcism — feels tailor-made for a generation raised on metalcore, goth aesthetics, and authenticity.

The full track list for Conspiracy includes:

“Every song on this album feels like a confession,” Rennick adds. “It’s about taking back control — from your demons, your trauma, or anyone who ever doubted you.”
