Concert Review
Introduction
I’m a big fan of live shows and I try to see as many concerts as possible. Recently, I got the chance to go see Lynch Mob perform at the Rockpile, Toronto. This was not my first time seeing them live and I was not disappointed. The band sounded great and their performance was full of energy!
Lynch Mob is the new project of guitarist George Lynch.
This is the new project of guitarist George Lynch.
He’s a legendary guitar virtuoso who has played with Dokken, Lynch Mob and lately Chickenfoot.
The band was formed by Oni Logan and Anthony Esposito, who then recruited George to play lead guitar for them.
In 1989 they released their first album, Wicked Sensation which contained three hit singles including “Wicked Sensation” and “Sun Goes Down.” They found success again when they released their second album Smoke This in 1992 which contained the single “Smoke This.” After that they disbanded until 2002 when they reunited with Mark Zavon joining on bass as well as Deen Castronovo taking over drums from Anthony Esposito who left the band shortly after recording Smoke This due to personal issues he had at the time (he returned briefly later but eventually left permanently).
Lynch Mob are a great live act that always delivers a solid show.
The band played a good mix of songs from their new album and older material, including the crowd-favorite “Wicked Sensation.” The performance was tight, engaging and loud. The sound quality was excellent throughout the show, which is no easy task at 1am when you’re playing in a dark club.
The crowd went wild for Lynch Mob and it was clear that everyone in attendance had a great time. Both guitarists Doug Aldrich and Reb Beach were having fun on stage (if you watch closely you can even see them crack up laughing during one song) but still managed to put on an impressive performance—especially considering how long they’ve been doing this!
Conclusion
Whether you’re a fan of George Lynch or just a hard rock fan in general, it’s worth checking out the next show he’s playing at your local venue.
