Boundary-pushing death metallers and recent Decibel cover stars, Sanguisugabogg — Cody Davidson (drums), Drew Arnold (bass/guitars), Devin Swank (vocals), and Ced Davis (bass/guitars) — have returned with their third full-length album, Hideous Aftermath via Century Media.

In their hometown of Columbus, Ohio, the band unveiled a “hellish” billboard promoting the record, directly across from the state capitol. The artwork riffs on the infamous 2004 “Hell is Real” Christian billboards. “To have our logo plastered on a billboard just across our state capitol building should be considered vandalism in some way,” the band quips. “This is so cool. Thank you to Century Media for giving OUR city the sickest merch it could ever receive.”

Known for their unpronounceable name and unreadable logos, Sanguisugabogg have crafted a record as gore-obsessed and intense as any of their previous releases, including Tortured Whole (2021) and Homicidal Ecstasy (2023). Swank calls it, “the one where we rolled our sleeves up and brought our A-Game.”
Produced by Kurt Ballou (Nails, High on Fire) at God City Studios in Salem, Massachusetts, Hideous Aftermath captures the band in pure creative mode after months on the road. “Kurt mixed Homicidal Ecstasy, so he already understood what we were going for,” Swank explains.
Touring extensively with the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Lorna Shore, and Kublai Khan, and performing at festivals like Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville, the band has carved a path from the underground to broader audiences while maintaining their brutal identity. “Eight or nine years ago, it seemed like what we were doing was pretty niche,” Swank admits.
