Station @ The Rockpile, Toronto

It was a great pleasure attending the Station @ The Rockpile show this past weekend in Toronto. The band is a refreshing new group hailing from NYC with a nostalgic vibe that transports you right back to the ’80s.

Headlining was Autograph, who put on a great show as expected, but I was especially blown away by the support act, Station. They had something of an impromptu acoustic set due to a last-minute hitch with customs and made the best of it — they played an incredible show!

Lead singer Patrick Kearney’s voice reminded me of a mix between singer-songwriters Freddy Curci (Sheriff/Alias) and Sebastian Bach, which was a treat for my ears. Also particularly impressive were the guitar solos by Chris Lane, with some amazing licks and soaring guitar melodies, truly evoking the best of the ’80s sound.

Given the circumstances, I can only imagine the quality of a full set with bass accompaniment. Without a doubt, Station is a band worth checking out. Their debut album, Station, is a fantastic listen, and I can highly recommend it for fans of classic rock and modern rock alike.
