Canadian progressive metal heavyweights Protest the Hero are coming home.
Following the release of their first full-length album in six years, Within, the band has announced a new Canadian headlining tour that will take them across the country this November and December.
The announcement comes as Protest the Hero wrap up a European run that included headline shows and festival appearances at Radar Festival in Manchester, Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic and Munich’s Free & Easy festival.
Released earlier this year, Within has already surpassed 1.3 million streams across streaming platforms and has received praise from outlets including Guitar World, Metal Injection, Metal Hammer, Decibel and Rolling Stone. The album also delivered the band’s most successful pre-order campaign to date.
The album’s “Mouthpiece” video has received exposure on Stingray Hard, while the band has also landed radio play on SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal and CBC Music, along with placements on major editorial playlists across Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube.
“We weren’t sure what would come next once it was finally out in the world,” the band said of the album’s reception. “The response has been above our expectations, and we’re incredibly humbled that so many of you have stuck with us after all these years. This has lit a fire under us, and we couldn’t think of a better way to kick off this record cycle than with a coast-to-coast tour across Canada.”
The Canadian run begins November 12 in Moncton, New Brunswick, before making stops in Halifax, Fredericton, Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, London, Thunder Bay, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Victoria.
Toronto fans can catch Protest the Hero at The Opera House on November 21.
