Foo Fighters Drop Explosive New Single “Caught In The Echo”

Foo Fighters are back with another high-voltage preview of their upcoming 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy, set for release on April 24 via Roswell Records/RCA Records.

The band has unveiled “Caught In The Echo,” the third single from the record—and it might be the most immediate and hard-hitting track revealed so far. Opening with a frantic chant of “Do I? Do I? Do I? Do I?”, the song wastes no time setting a tone that feels unmistakably Foo Fighters.

Following the gritty, back-to-basics energy of the album’s title track, “Caught In The Echo” leans even further into the band’s live intensity. It builds with relentless momentum before landing on the haunting closing line, “Who can save us now?”—a moment that captures the restless spirit driving this new era.

Critics have already taken notice of the album’s direction, with early reactions highlighting a return to loud, unpolished rock. The new material channels the same kind of explosive energy heard on Wasting Light, particularly recalling the impact of its opening track “Bridge Burning.”

Your Favorite Toy was recorded at home and co-produced by the band alongside Oliver Roman. The album was engineered by Roman and mixed by Mark “Spike” Stent, bringing together a sound that feels both immediate and deliberately rough around the edges.

The album’s arrival also kicks off Foo Fighters’ massive Take Cover world tour, with demand already surging—highlighted by a sold-out April 28 show in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

In true Foo Fighters fashion, the band also added a creative twist to the single’s release. Twenty hand-burned CDs of “Caught In The Echo,” each featuring unique artwork by Dave Grohl and his daughter Harper, were hidden across California’s San Fernando Valley, turning the launch into a real-world scavenger hunt for fans.

With each new release, Your Favorite Toy is shaping up to be one of the band’s most urgent and energetic records in years—lean, loud, and built to be played at full volume.
